2024 Expansion Campaign

2024 Expansion Campaign

Hello fellow adventurers!

I hope you are all doing well and enjoy the slow turn back to warmth (as winter draws to an end) for those of us in the northern hemisphere. As alluded to in previous posts, we have some big things planned for 2024 – namely the growing of AEGIS Game Studios, as well as the release of The Incredible Adventures of Josh & Connor: The Pre-Prologue and finally the launch of Open Weekends (with Community Clash V being tacked onto that to celebrate) for AEGIS Kingdoms.

As you no doubt know, making games is a challenging business. That is why we have now begun our expansion campaign for the year. The aim is simple: to grow AEGIS Game Studios. What does that entail? The creation of two new teams:

The Community Team

This is something we’ve trialed recently and are looking to have some awesome, dedicated folks who can really do some awesome work in the community. Spread over multiple roles there will be a mixture of in-game and Discord community growth, as well as community events and engagement. They will also be working with the other new team (Media Team) to produce some awesome visual content to promote this.

The reason for this is that as we are building games like AEGIS Kingdoms, we want to ensure there’s not only in-game content that you have access to, but also be part of a lively community. My personal belief is that it shouldn’t have to be up to the community to organise their own events. As a developer, I take that responsibility personally. So these are steps to ensuring this.

The Media Team

The Media Team is another new addition. Again, spread over multiple roles there will be a mixture of graphic design & video content production, as well as social media management & presence. These amazing folk will be ensuring that you have access to a constant, varying amount of visual and media content to support AEGIS projects & games.

Now the reason for our expansion is because A). there is only one of me (developer) and I can’t do everything at the same time. The more time I spend on community posts or video creation, the less time I’m spending on development. B). Creating something alongside other people is so much more rewarding. You all get to share in the joy of it and most importantly get to share what you’ve made with each other. So all in all it’s vitally important for the vision of the community that others can get involved.

We’re also not stopping there! If in the future you, or we, have an idea that would benefit AEGIS Game Studios (for example the creation of a new role or team), it’s certainly something we’d be open to investigating. The joy of forging a community is that it takes a considerable amount of blood, sweat and tears. But at the end of that process – there’s something beautiful: a community that’s you’re very own. Something to be extremely proud of.
