Introduction
AEGIS Game Studios (“the Studio”), including its subsidiary Roleplay Forge Games, is committed to conducting its activities ethically and with respect for human rights. Modern slavery and human trafficking are serious abuses of human rights that can occur in many forms, including forced labour, exploitation, servitude and related practices.
The Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires certain large organisations undertaking business in the UK to publish an annual statement describing the steps they have taken to prevent modern slavery in their operations and supply chains. While AEGIS Game Studios is not currently legally required to publish such a statement, the Studio chooses to do so voluntarily in order to demonstrate its commitment to ethical practice and transparency.
This statement sets out actions to identify, prevent and mitigate modern slavery or human trafficking in the Studio’s operations and supply chains during the financial year 6 April 2024 to 5 April 2025.
Our Organisation
AEGIS Game Studios is a UK-based independent game development studio focused on the creation of immersive, story-driven digital experiences and the operation of online gaming communities. Its activities include game design and development, digital publishing, community engagement, creative content production, and supporting services delivered through its subsidiary Roleplay Forge Games.
The Studio operates through a small, specialist team and collaborates with external contributors and suppliers where appropriate. The Studio engages third parties for services including technology platforms, digital infrastructure and hosting, creative services, software tooling, marketing support, and professional services.
Our Commitment
The Studio is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of its operations and supply chains. It recognises its responsibility to take a proportionate but robust approach to addressing potential risks and to uphold high ethical standards in all business activities.
The Studio is committed to transparency in its own operations and in its approach to managing ethical standards within its supply chains. It expects equivalent standards of lawful and ethical conduct from its contractors, suppliers and business partners.
This statement has been reviewed and approved by the Studio’s leadership.
Due Diligence Processes
As part of its ongoing commitment to identifying and mitigating the risk of modern slavery:
The Studio maintains appropriate engagement practices to ensure fair, lawful and transparent working arrangements with contributors and service providers.
Proportionate due diligence is undertaken when engaging suppliers, contractors or service providers, including consideration of reputation, legal compliance and ethical standards.
The Studio seeks to build sustainable relationships with trusted partners who demonstrate responsible business practices and compliance with applicable law.
Policies and Procedures
The Studio maintains policies and procedures that support the prevention of slavery and human trafficking within its operations and supply chains. These include:

Engagement and Contracting Practices: Individuals and service providers are engaged under appropriate contractual arrangements and in accordance with lawful and fair working practices.
Procurement Expectations: The Studio seeks to engage reputable suppliers and applies proportionate due diligence to ensure appropriate ethical standards are understood and upheld.
Supply Chains
The Studio procures a range of goods and services that support its operations, including but not limited to:

IT infrastructure, cloud hosting and security services
Creative and production services
Marketing, media and community services
Professional and administrative services
The Studio recognises that risks of modern slavery may exist within complex or international supply chains, including those associated with digital services or outsourced creative work. Where relevant, the Studio seeks appropriate assurances from suppliers regarding ethical labour practices and compliance with applicable standards.
What We Are Doing Now
To maintain and further reinforce the management of modern slavery risks:
The Studio continues to embed ethical considerations into supplier selection and onboarding processes.
Contractual terms are reviewed periodically to reflect expectations of lawful and responsible conduct.
Supply categories are reviewed to identify any areas where risks may reasonably be elevated.
Internal guidance is made available to relevant contributors on recognising and reporting potential indicators of exploitation or unethical labour practices.
Policies and procedures are reviewed periodically to ensure continued alignment with ethical objectives.
Reporting Concerns
The Studio encourages all contributors, suppliers and partners to report concerns relating to modern slavery or human trafficking. Reports may be made confidentially through established internal reporting channels and will be reviewed and addressed appropriately.
