Hello Adventurers! Here are the patch notes for today’s update.
CURRENT QUEST OBJECTIVE:
- The current quest objective is focusing on upgrading the player character controller. This is essentially about “feel”. Afterall, if the game isn’t fun to just run around, no one is going to enjoy it.
- As such over the shoulder aiming for ranged weapons is being added, sticky targeting, double-click to move (accessibility), and other quality of life improvements that should make exploring, adventuring and combat much more enjoyable.
- You may recall previous updates with the “tank controller” (which also features a combat aspect as well for quick reactions). These features will build upon this foundation essentially to just make it feel better and polished.
NOTEWORTHY NEWS:
- Seasonal Events are an important part of AEGIS Kingdoms. It’s an opportunity to add some seasonal content and adventures for everyone, whilst also connecting with real world events. As Easter is upon us, AEGIS Kingdoms celebrates the Festival of New Life.
- You voted, and the community seasonal item this year will be the Debbie the Chick pet, representing new life, hatching chickens and of course a wonderful new pet to go on adventures with you. I am hoping to add our beloved mascot Debbie the Chicken into the game soon as well.
- Additionally some of the Game Master weapons are now being designed & modeled (for example like Arvaton’s Blade). These are rare weapons that you can earn through (sometimes challenging) gameplay that have been thought up by the Game Master in question. They’ve come up with some quests for you to complete, and in reward you’ll get their own weapon to go out fight with.
- These should hopefully be in-game by the end of April, with quests to follow after.
PATCH NOTES – 12th April 2025
- NEW: Keybindings have made their way to AEGIS Kingdoms! You may now change a growing number of keybindings! Suggestions for further keybindings are also welcome!
- NEW: The settings menu has received a visual overhaul, with some additional new settings to help tweak performance when necessary.
- FIX: Pressing Escape now properly closes windows the right way. Apparently there was also a wrong way which is no longer happening.
- FIX: Large amount of refactoring with input actions (keybindings and how’re they’re handled behind the scenes). Rather than directly reference pure inputs, it’s now making use of Unity’s new input system which, as previously mentioned, opens up easier and better accessibility support (for example specific controllers). Mixed with the new keybindings system, you’ll be able to customize the game to suit your needs as much as is possible. Feedback and suggestions always welcome on this point.
KNOWN BUGS:
- BUG: Mastery panel hangs slightly when opening. Suspecting a wider issue with the UI.
- BUG: Click to move doesn’t rotate the character so it looks weird.
- BUG: Ranged weapons inexplicably consume vast amounts of remaining ammo on reload.
- BUG: Inventory hangs when opening, causing a large frame drop.
- BUG: Character profile doesn’t update equipment slots unless the inventory has been opened first.
- BUG: Battlegrounds timer doesn’t always activate.
- BUG: Click to move VFX marker doesn’t always show when using the new character controller.
- BUG: Warping has inaccuracies causing players to fall through the map when warping within the same map.
- BUG: Harvestables cannot be harvested when in streaming scenes.
