Hello and thank you to those slowly making their way over to our new Discord. I look forward to chatting with folks in due course and sharing progress on the game.
Cutting to the chase, the current focus of AEGIS Kingdoms is artwork, as essentially that’s the main aspect of the game that you’ll be interacting with. A good 95% of all game mechanics are implemented. So what development looks like in actual practice is me 3D modelling most of the time.
GETTING TO OPEN WEEKENDS
3D MODELLING CREATURES
- All 250+ high-poly model sculps are completed, so now the next step is prioritising the select amount for Open Weekends. They will then be made “low-poly”, rigged, textured and added to the game.
- These will be a range of creatures related to the storyline of the College of Learning in Arundel, so I am estimating maybe 15 of those models will be necessary.
3D MODELLING THE COLLEGE OF LEARNING
- Early designs for the College are done, but it needs to be made into the real thing.
- As Open Weekends progress, more aspects of the College will be opened up to explore, so you may see some areas blocked off and under construction.
FIXING THE HUMAN PLAYER MODELS
- This is a pet peeve and one that I need to fix. Both male and female player models need adjusting, the female heads need to be remade etc.
WHAT TO DO WHILST YOU WAIT
- Once these are ticked off, you can play the game.
- Hang out, chat, make friends, discuss what types of characters you may like to play, get involved in testing, provide feedback and the likes. I’ll be sharing semi-regularly (read: when things are to be shared), so keep an eye out here.
